I am most proud of my Artist Copy Drawing or my Royal River Watershed Species Tile because I think both of these projects really challenged and helped me to be more confident when making art specifically when drawing and painting which were two goals I hoped to get better at by the end of the semester. The Artist Copy Drawing project really helped me feel more confident about my drawing skills even though I didn’t draw it myself it was a good start to learning how to draw landscapes and buildings better (with the grid). The Royal River Watershed Species Tile Project really helped me with reaching my goal to be a better painter because I sketched, painted, and created a rather eye-catching and nice piece of art that involved two techniques of art that I don’t feel the most confident in but those units definitely helped me in those places. The art I made did surprise me a little bit because I didn’t think I was the best artist but after this art semester hopefully, I will feel more confident when making art and completing other things that may challenge me in the future.
I learned a lot about the different ways and styles of sculpting with many different materials in the Drawing in Space Reed Sculpture project we did. Another project that I found interesting was Still Life Studies that we did which also helped me learn more about the different surroundings each artist uses to inspire them to make their art. For these reasons, I think about the different art-making processes differently, and I also appreciate each unique art-making skill in a different way.
After this semester I am interested in taking Photography, ceramics for something to do with clay, and maybe drawing and painting. I really want to become a better artist when it comes to drawing and painting so I am hoping the confidence I have built during Art Fundamentals with travel with me to the other art classes I wish to take in the future.
I really enjoyed either the Color Wheel Photography or the Royal River Watershed Species Tile. I would have liked to work a little more clay but I enjoyed what materials, and techniques we did work with.
Lots of things inspire me to make art. Some things are: Sometimes the things inspire me like when I am outside hiking or for sports and sometimes I just draw what's on my mind or I brainstorm as I go.
This semester I hope to get better at: This semester I hope to get better at drawing in different spaces and adding more character to my art.
I hope that we work more with: sculpting, and do more painting because those are two different techniques I hope to get better at.
