pieter bruegel used in his art many people moving about to give motion in his paintings with dozens of people in them. they were all painted on oak panels that are very thin. he painted what may be the first depiction of winter and it is very popular he shows hunters in the foreground closing in on a village and uses lots of white and gray in this. he also made the tower of babel painting where the focus is the tower itself but it is in the backround of a small group of people in the bottom left making it seem like the tower is above and towering over everything else and there is a town in the backround of the tower making it seem so much larger.

Some differences between the contempary artists are that Pieter Bruegel in most of his paintings depict a busy town square with very dull colors. While the modern artists use more contast and paint referencing issues like race and culture. Pieter Bruegel did not paint with a clear message and it was often in the colors of the painting such as death and humility and pride for the tower of babel referencing the story from the bible. Where humans attempted to build a tower so tall it could reach heaven and Gods kingdom but he destroyed the tower first. Another difference is the time period Pieter Bruegel was painting towards the end of the renaissance while the others have been painting in the 2000s and are gaining popularity now while Pieter Bruegel did not gain popularity while he was alive and only now is his work being discovered and appreciated
