James Kerry Marshall uses only black people in his art becasue he says white people have been overespresented in art over history so he is attempting to turn it in the other direction using only black people and absrtact patterns throughout the paintings.

pieter bruegel used in his art many people moving about to give motion in his paintings with dozens of people in them. they were all painted on oak panels that are very thin. he painted what may be the first depiction of winter and it is very popular he shows hunters in the foreground closing in on a village and uses lots of white and gray in this. he also made the tower of babel painting where the focus is the tower itself but it is in the backround of a small group of people in the bottom left making it seem like the tower is above and towering over everything else and there is a town in the backround of the tower making it seem so much larger.

some differences between the contempary artists are that pieter bruegel in most of his painting depict a busy town square with very dull colors while the modern artists use more contast and
