Visual Storytelling 

The artist James Kerry Marshal only paints black people and he made a promise to himself to only paint black people. he believes that being dark is not the valued position because of all the whiteness is the valued position.  when he started his art he thought about all the famous paintings had black people I the background and wanted to change that and make them the subject so he uses dark saturated colors of make the people that are the main focus to be dark. Nijdeka Akunyili Crosby is another contemporary artist she uses a similar style to the first guy but adds something else to give her are her own style. she uses these things called portrait fabrics. in Nigerian culture portrait fabrics are used for Weddings, burials, campaigns, and anything you really want them for. she likes working with the portrait fabrics because it is a painting and she can do whatever she wants with it and make any design.  Aliza Nisenbaum created the the ones who make it run painting of delta airlines. her painting included everyone who helps run and take care of the airport. the painting includes 16 essential workers on the delta airlines and the port authority team who make flight possible at the LaGuardia airport. her artwork is to put faces on everything that goes on and makes the airport run smoothly. 

Peter Bruegel is a historical artist from 1530-1569. He has a diffrent type of artwork and his artwork is a bit more chaotic with more things going on. one of his pieces is called child play and it is of a bunch of children playing on a street, the kids are messing around. this piece of artwork is painted onto a piece of oak wood, and his pieces are very fragile. he has many great pieces one of witch is called hunters in the snow, it was the first winter painting in the south and influenced many other artists to create artwork with winter landscapes. he lived through the religious times so he takes those scenes and makes them into his own world.  his style of art requires taking a scene weather it is winter summer fall or spring and he makes them have so much going on and so much to look at and even with all that he still has much detail.

The diffrence between the contemporary artists and peter is pretty diffrence and showed me the diffrent types of art. Peter is more of a historical artist with his pieces of artwork being more chaotic and more clustered with sometimes there being a wintery scene. peters artwork does not have a "subject" in the paintings he creates artwork with a subject in general but not a single main one. The other contemporary artists paintings  are much different in contrast to peters. their paintings are more simple and much neater due to them not being as clustered. the other paintings have a main subject, usually a person.their paintings also represent bring the "underdogs" or less appreciated people into the light so people can appreaciete what they do and give their goals a face.
