During our club meetings, we often spend our time listening to calm music and working together on crafts and small art projects. We foster an inclusive and laid-back environment. Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) is a club designed to help bring more discussions, awareness and education around mental health while also being a calm, fun, safe place for students to come enjoy. BC2M is a national organization with clubs throughout many schools, as a club we will explore the world of mental health through fun activities, student-led discussions, creative projects and opportunities to learn more about the world of mental health. Whether you're passionate about mental health or simply curious to learn more, everyone is welcome to join us at BC2M!

At Best Buddies, we are dedicated to promoting inclusion for people with and without disabilities. Our mission includes tons of fun activities, such as board games, a Best Buddies prom, attending sports events, and more! To be a part of our community, the international organization requires you to be dedicated to our club. This includes coming to meetings at least once a month (club times/flex times), and once we get to our “Buddy Pairing” set here at YHS, you will be expected to communicate with your paired friend at least once a week. This communication could include a simple text, a hangout, a group outing, and more! Join our group to make our community a more inclusive and disability-educated place!

The Black Student Union (BSU) is a place where young black students can openly be themselves. All students are welcome to join and learn more about black culture, issues, history, and have fun no matter what race. We are dedicated to fostering awareness, consciousness, and a deeper understanding about black culture here in Yarmouth. We hope to uplift students who feel they aren't being heard and to further educate our members and the school! We also love to bring FOOD to almost all meetings and host super FUN club events such as movie nights and collaborations with other BSU's from other schools! We love to have discussions about books and read books together, but without the stress of a huge commitment. It is very low-key, and many snacks will always be provided!!!

Cards for Hospitalized Kids Club is a club dedicated to bringing kindness, encouragement, and joy to children who are hospitalized nationwide. It is a laid back environment where you can socialize with friends, color/draw, and eat snacks we provide. No talent required—it’s an easy way to make a big change! Through handmade cards and thoughtful messages, we hope to brighten kids' days and remind them that they are cared for and supported by Yarmouth students!

If you're interested in learning basic chess strategy, playing casual games with friends, or competing competitively, chess club is the place for you! Chess club meets during club time (Mr. Smith’s room) and on our first meeting we will choose an additional weekly time to meet. We would love to have you show up, even if it is not a big commitment for you – all levels of participation are encouraged. Ultimately, we will be competing in the Maine High School Team Championship (see chessmaine.net) as a team on the third Saturday of May. We will take the top 5-6 players in our club to the Team Championship to compete and may host an in-school tournament to determine who will go. We promote and teach civil dialogue through intergenerational discussions, Table Talks, and story exchanges. Hey YHS! Welcome to the Clipper Chronicle, your school newspaper! Our club works as a team to be studious and satirical, and always to "Seas the day!" If you like to write, take photos, are interested in journalism, or like working on Canva, this is the club for you! We come out with an issue as often as we can, but we aim for one at least every quarter. Then, we send it out for the school to read! Unfortunately, we don’t stand in the hallways and yell “Read all about it!” but we do use email, which is almost as exciting. Clipper Friends is not a traditional club that meets during club time - Clipper Friends meets Wednesday mornings during late start at HMS & YES.  Clipper Friends is a mentoring program pairing HS students with a younger student at either HMS or YES that is in need of a connection. We try to match students based on interests. Most pairs enjoy connecting through activities - like sports, crafts, board games, drawing etc. Most high school students find Clipper Friends a rewarding experience and a great way to get community service hours.

In Club Olas our mission is to fundraise money for women in Guatemala who face unstable jobs and pay. We do this by creating bracelets and other crafts and selling them at club sales. We are interested in trying new fundraising techniques if anyone has ideas. At club time we typically have movies and videos going in the background and have snacks while making bracelets. The current leaders are Claire, Elisabeth, Stella and Nico. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to any of us or stop us in the hall!

Hello! Are you looking for a place to learn more about programming, app design, and other tech-related topics? Then the Computer Science Club is right for you. We meet during Club Time. Everyone is welcome to enter, no matter your computer science abilities! If you choose, you can use our meetings to work on a submission to the Maine App Challenge. This is a competition to create an app of your choosing that is due in March. Our meetings involve helping people explore computer science-related topics or providing a space to work on their own projects. Culture Club is an amazing place where people can connect over their differences and share their cultures. We strive to make a safe space for everyone, especially the minorities that are too small to have their own club. Meetings consist of a cultural presentation, along with cultural activities, games, and food with the goal of celebrating diversity within YHS. Our overarching goal is to host a culture fair, making YHS a more diverse, rich, and welcoming community. Whether you are looking to share, learn, or simply meet new people, Culture Club is the place for you!

We meet in Mr. Henry’s room during club time and meet in Mr. Quigly’s room after school on Wednesdays. We roll lots of dice and eat snacks. If you ever wanted to try D&D but never had time to do it, pop on in!

The Environmental Action Club is a student group dedicated to making our school and community a more clean and sustainable place! We organize various activities and projects throughout the year that work toward this mission and give YOU community service hours! We organize trash cleanups, promote environmentally friendly habits within the school, support legislation, provide reusable dishes for team dinners for Dishes on Demand, and much more. Want to help out and make a real difference in your community? Come join us!

Film Club’s goal is to bring the magic of cinema to YHS. Watching movies, writing screenplays, storyboarding, editing, (eating popcorn), filming, anything you can dream of! We will film and edit promotional content for sports teams and clubs, write and direct short films, work with the school’s fancy film equipment, and work together to come up with film-y things that everyone can enjoy and grow from.

The Finance Club is the place to learn how to make money and have fun. In Finance Club we learn how to run a business through hands-on learning with the JA Titan Challenge program (along with other things). The Titan Challenge is a simulation where you and two friends run a phone company and compete against other teams and their companies. In the spring, we compete against other schools and have the possibility to win prizes, scholarships, and a place in the National Titan Challenge Competition. If you’re at all interested in making money, running a business, and having fun with good natured competition with friends, then The Finance Club is a great choice.

Global Action Club supports nationwide efforts to help countries and communities in need. Our largest contribution is volunteering at Partners for World Health regularly. We package and sort medical supplies that are either shipped to developing countries or sold at a heavily discounted price to Maine residents in need. Another contribution we make is raising money through Clynk for Stanzin Mentok’s tuition in India.  During our meetings, we plan fundraisers, make posters, and Clynk.  Our main fundraisers are the Winter Clothing Drive and Strive Drive. This winter, we are also doing a Polar Plunge to Cure Blindness.  The main benefits of joining GAC are to gain community service hours and make a difference.  We also get food when we volunteer at Partners for World Health, so it will be a fun experience where you can make new friends.  We hope to see you at our next meeting!

Interact Club focuses on “Service Above Self” and is the high school version of Rotary Club International. Our club focuses on taking action to make a difference in our local community and promotes understanding of new cultures. A typical meeting might involve planning for care packages, writing cards to the elderly community, or creating posters for a clothing drive. We also plan and run a yearly food drive at Shaw’s to raise money and collect food for the Yarmouth and Falmouth food pantries, with over 1700 pounds of food collected in one drive. Our goal this year is to promote leadership within YHS and to run multiple successful fundraisers for charities and programs in our local community. Hey everyone! The Yarmouth Math Team participates in five meets a year where five different topics are assessed against other high schools in the state. There are individual and team sections, but the whole process is a highly collaborative effort. Each week leading up to the meets, we cover one of the five topics in depth, so everyone feels prepared going into the competition. We welcome and encourage all skill levels to join because it is ultimately all about learning, no matter where you’re starting from! Each meet encompasses new material, so joining mid-year is no problem at all, and any level of participation is welcome. Whether you seek a little more academic competition, or you just want to learn some new math skills, we hope you consider joining us in this endeavor!

Hello, YHS! Do you like to argue? Do you want to learn more about global news? If so, Model UN might be right for you. At Model UN, a simulation of the United Nations, we work on finding solutions to some of the world’s most challenging problems. Club members are each assigned the role of a different country and work together to devise solutions to issues like climate change, poverty, and digital warfare. We attend two conferences per year, including the Maine Model United Nations Conference (MEMUNC), where we won Best Delegation in 2023 and 2024. Our goal is to raise money to support local animal shelters and animals in need. A typical meeting involves some sort of craft that we will sell to raise money, or playing games like charades when there is nothing to do.

Do you love taking pictures or want to get better at photography? If so, come join Photography Club! You will learn new photography tips and tricks, have fun with mini photo contests as we focus on different skills and styles, and even photograph sporting events and school activities for community service hours!! Whether you're experienced with a camera or just getting started, we are the perfect place for you to explore and have fun diving into photography with your friends!

Hello! Our club could be broadly thought of as a place for trivia. Every Friday afternoon, we meet in Ms. Wilson’s room (B127) and answer questions ranging from pop culture to geography to science. We compete at various Quiz Bowl competitions across the state, which consists of 4-on-4, head-to-head trivia. Every November we send four contestants and two alternates to compete in the Maine High School Quiz Show which is broadcast on Maine Public. We welcome anyone regardless of how smart you consider yourself, because there’s always something you’ll know the answer to. If you have any questions feel free to ask Elise Garcia or James Gerber. The Red Cross Club at Yarmouth High School is one of many across the country, connected directly to the American Red Cross Association. We are dedicated to educating students at YHS on first aid, and natural disaster procedures and spreading awareness and raising funds for the Red Cross and those in need. We hope to organize blood drives and feature various medical professionals to give in-depth courses on first aid. This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in the medical field or who just want to learn basic safety procedures. We hope to see you all there!

Meetings: 3:00-5:00 Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Club Time

At our core, we are an engineering-focused problem-solving club. If you are drawn to fast-paced strategy games, engineering/design, or programming, you would love Robotics Club. There are so many ways to contribute that you are sure to find a role that matches your skills. We attend 3-5 local tournaments, which are almost all on Saturdays. Teams that do well at the Maine VEX Championship in late winter can qualify for the World Championships in April or May. We are a sport that sails out of Portland every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the fall and spring! Join in either the fall or spring (or both!). You will have so much fun on the water and get the chance to sail alongside experienced and inexperienced sailors!

Hello! If you’re interested in math, science, and/or competition, then Science Bowl is the club for you. Science Bowl is a fast-paced buzzer competition, where you can explore your knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics, math, earth and space science, and energy. In past years, we have competed at two main science bowl competitions, the MIT Science Bowl and the Maine State Science Bowl. We also participate in the Maine State Science Olympiad, which features hands-on events like building machines, solving lab challenges, and taking subject-specific tests across a variety of scientific disciplines. If you have any interest in science or math, come check it out! Our club leaders are James Gerber (President) and Elise Garcia de Reynal (Vice President). We meet in Ms. Wilson’s room (B127) during Club Time and on Mondays from 7:15-7:55 before school.

In the sewing for others club, we will meet in the library to get together and make no-sew blankets from all kinds of different patterned fabrics together. We also support Project Linus by donating the blankets to children in need. It is a fun time to get together and make something, chat with your friends, and help our community along the way! Snack Attack is a fun, inclusive space where students can make and try different foods, play games, eat snacks, and meet new people. We’ll raise money to donate to Preble Street and other supportive programs and food pantries while learning useful culinary skills like knife skills, nutrition, and kitchen safety. Hi guys! If you’re looking for a fun way to get involved and make a difference, Surf Rider Club is a relaxed, fun group where you can hang out with friends while helping out local oceans and beaches! We work with the Surf Rider foundation, an environmental nonprofit focused on protecting coastal ecosystems. In the past we’ve done beach cleanups, made bracelets, and learned about ways to reduce plastic pollution in the Gulf of Maine. This year, we’re excited to keep planning fun activities, meeting new people, and making a positive impact on our local marine environment. Hello everyone! Our club is named Thrift Club! In this club, we donate repurposed clothing to Maine Needs to help people in need. We also give old clothing a new purpose instead of letting clothes go to waste. This can be done during our club meetings, where students can participate in embroidery and other creative activities to turn older clothes into new and exciting pieces. Students can also help sort the clothing that will be donated. Another part of the club is allowing students to look through the clothing and take pieces they like and think they will wear. Hi YHS! Welcome to Frisbee Club! Our club’s main goal is to get students outside, playing frisbee, and having fun in a low-pressure environment. Everyone is welcome, no matter their experience level. During club time, we meet in Mr. Quigley’s room and then head out to the turf to play and practice together. If the weather isn’t cooperating, we’ll stay inside and play other fun games. This club is led by Isabel Carr, Sophie Gordon, and Lila Mocciola. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

If you like lifting weights or want to learn more about how to lift them, then this is the perfect club for you! In this club, we will get better/smarter at working out. We will help you with making workouts, choosing optimal exercises, and helping you with form. The weight-lifting-related activities include personal help and general lifting time.
