I have been teaching High School Mathematics in Maine for 26+ years. For the last 17+ years, I have been teaching here at Yarmouth High School. I currently teach CP Algebra 2, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics. In the past, I have also taught Honors Algebra 2, Honors PreCalculus, Honors Math 3, CP Math 3, Honors Senior Math, as well as Math 1 classes.
I have an AB in Mathematics with a minor in education from Bowdoin College. Since college, I have done countless hours of professional development in educational technology, mathematics instruction practices, as well as scoring AP Calculus Exams.
Helping students succeed and achieve to the highest levels of their potential is my passion. Math can be a mystifying and challenging subject for many students. The primary goal in my classroom is to help students realize that life is full of patterns and that the concepts and skills we learn in math can help make sense of it all. It is precisely the challenging nature of mathematics that makes it interesting and fun. I truly believe that all students have the ability to understand and succeed in the math classroom and beyond. My hope is that all students will find confidence in themselves as they develop an appreciation of mathematics and that many will consider pursuing STEM further in college and in their careers.
