Narrative Slab Mug

Reflection-

The story behind my mug is from when I went to Costa Rica with my family and Lyla and I went snorkeling and found a small ship at the bottom. I think I show in my mug this story in great detail. The colors of glaze are impactful and really get the story across with how vibrant my mug is. I carved a lot of fish and the kelp under the water and I think this helps with the scene I am trying to portray on my mug because it adds more depth. I think I perfectly set this scene and I love the way my mug turned out.Something that is slightly bothering me is that the colors didn't shine through on the boat and it doesn't really look like a boat. If I could go back I would have done more layers of the glaze in hopes that it would allow the color to show up. Another thing would have been to maybe add more on the sky line, maybe the start to a beach or something like that but that would have been tricky to do in such a short amount of time. All in all I am very happy with the way my mug came out.
