Purpose:
To combine typography and morphing by transforming a word into its meaning using creative typography and visual design.
To stretch, distort, connect or reshape the letters so the typography itself visually communicates the idea, action, emotion, or concept of the word.
To use color schemes effectively to enhance the word and meaning.
26cm x 12.75cm cool color scheme, colored pencil and pen on paper. Sept 21st, 2026
I would make my M bigger for sure; it's probably too small. I should have measured out each letter beforehand to make them even. As well as measure a proper distance between the letters using a ruler. I'd also take out the two wind things in the middle of the T and just add wind throughout the piece where some lightning bolts are.
I designed it so each letter of the word “storm” is an element of an actual storm. The S is lightning, the T is wind, the O is a cloud, the R is a tornado, and the M is thunder. I also added rain and thunder behind the words as well as a tornado in the O so there's not a gaping white space in the middle of the morphing typography.
Making the letters similar sizes at the end, my M is a little too small, and my R is too close to the O and probably a little small as well. I would also change the thunder bolts to have less but them be bigger aswell as possibly a different cool color.
