Accentuate the Negative

Students will:

- Be able to understand arithmetic operations of positive and negative number.

- Be able to use fact families with negative numbers.

- Be able to compare and order rational numbers.

- Be able to plot points on a quadrant.

- Be able to use the commutative and distributive properties and order of operations.


Stretching and Shrinking

Students will:

- Be able to understand ways that stretching or shrinking a figure affects lengths, angle measures, perimeter and area.

- Be able to use coordinate rules to stretch or shrink shapes and plot them.


Comparing and Scaling

Students will:

- Be able to write comparison statements.

- Be able to find unit rates for given situations.

- Be able to work with proportional reasoning and write equations

- Be able to find scale factors.


Moving Straight Ahead

Students will:

- Solves problems and makes decisions about linear relationships using information given in tables, graphs, and symbolic expressions.

- Translates information about linear relations given a table, a graph, or an equation to one of the other forms.
