Overview of 6th Grade Spanish
The 6th grade program is a yearlong course of study that meets daily for 40 minutes and is part of the students' required Unified Arts rotation.
Students will continue to expand the Spanish they learned in our elementary school program. The emphasis of the course is on novice-level skills, such as developing listening comprehension for main ideas and speaking using primarily memorized phrases.
The themes of our four units of study are Greetings and Introductions, Healthy Living, Communities and The Natural World Around Us. Students demonstrate their learning in interpretive, interpersonal and presentational activities and tasks.
