Y.E.S. Grade 5

Acadia & teton

Welcome!

Ms. Conley & Mrs. Smith team teach 5th graders at Yarmouth Elementary School. Mrs. Smith teaches math, science, and social studies, and Ms. Conley teaches reading and writing.

Mrs. Smith's homeroom students are known as Team Acadia, or the Acadians, named after Acadia National Park. Ms. Conley's homeroom students are the Tetons, after Grand Teton National Park.

About Mrs. Smith

Professionally, I have been an elementary school educator for the past 13 years, teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. In 2010 I graduated from the University of Maine with my B.S. in Elementary Education. In 2018 I earned my M.S.Ed. as a Professional Educator from the University of Southern Maine. Currently, I am enrolled in courses working towards a CAS in Educational Leadership from USM, as well.

Personally, my husband and I live in Standish with our two daughters. I love gardening, baking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

About Ms. Conley

Professionally, I have taught 5th grade in Yarmouth for 30 years. After many years of teaching at the middle school (HMS), I really enjoy teaching in the new wing at YES!

Personally, I have twins who are 27-years-old. My oldest daughter, Shannon, is an ICU nurse and her twin brother, my son, Patrick, is a Firefighter/EMT. My youngest daughter, Kayla,  is a junior in college. She is in the honors nursing program at st. Anselm.

I love Acadia National Park, and my favorite hike there is the Beehive! My brother and his family live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I love to go to Grand Teton National Park in the summer and ski at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in the winter.

I can’t wait to get to know a little more about each of you!
