Each Test Correction is worth one point (or half of the original value of the question they correct). The added points will appear in the "Test Corrections" column in Powerschool.
Test Corrections must be submitted by the due date.
For each question you must:
Write out the question (number, question, correct answer)
Write out an explanation of the correct answer (this is the hard part). This should include specific, relevant elaboration- added detail to show thorough knowledge on the topic. If your explanation simply repeats the information already in the test question you will not get points. For short answer type writing questions you should write a complete, correct response. If you got partial credit originally you may be able to use some or all of your original response and just add to it.
Cite the name of the class material (homework, reading, class notes, handouts, slideshow, etc.) as reference for where the correct information was found. You may NOT cite a source that wasn't used directly as part of our unit work. NOTE: In some cases for stimulus-based questions (questions based on a source) all you need to explain the answer is information from the source itself. For those, you can just cite the test source, nothing else is needed. (see the second example below)
THE TEST CORRECTION EXEMPLAR
Question: 13. The actions of Toussaint L'Ouverture helped encourage
A. the invasion of Haiti by the American Navy
B. the sale of Louisiana in 1803
C. the purchase of Florida
D. the creation of the Monroe Doctrine
Correct Answer: B
I got question 13 incorrect because I thought that the Monroe Doctrine was the most valid option at the time because it made it so that America would not get involved with foreign countries. I now see that B is the best possible answer because Napoleon had been giving the issues in Haiti a lot of attention and he realized that it was more important for him to sell Louisiana, make $15 million, and re-focus his efforts on the war(s) in Europe, and not on the events taking place in the Caribbean. Therefore, "the sale of Louisiana in 1803" is the correct answer. Source: AP Textbook, The American Pageant, page 221
