Purpose: To understand how a line can be used to create a three-dimensional form
To create a sculpture that considers balance and repetition, variety and emphasis
I see a good amount of variety in my sculpture. There are a lot of different things happening in my sculpture like all of the bends. The bends in my sculpture make interesting shapes that make my sculpture look more intricate and it looks like it takes up more space than it actually does. My point of emphasis is obvious and I think that is a good thing because people won’t wonder where it is, they will automatically look at it. My emphasis point is a triangle in my sculpture that is covered with paper. This is something that really pops out.
Something I know now that I didn’t know before about sculpture is that people who make sculptures make practice sculptures to know what they are going to do. They may not make practice sculptures but they make plans or a smaller scaled model. Another thing I learned about sculpture is that one way that a lot of sculpture artists make their art is they don’t make it anything in particular but they make things that when you look at them you wonder. They allow your brain to decide what the sculpture is and that is a really cool concept.
