Striving to Flourish

Intersectional Lived Experiences with Disability

Drawn from community resources as well as Yale’s collections, the selections in this exhibition reflect three themes: the lived experience of disability, historical barriers to accessibility, and disability activism. These objects offer contemporary and historical perspectives on how people have navigated disability as it intersects with their other identities. We hope visitors will draw connections between the past and the present, Yale and other campuses, and life across different ages and abilities.
