Our mission is to advance the craft of playwriting and theater in NYC, elevating the representation of Latinx/é stories and championing a communal, pluralistic artistic practice. Through our programming, we demistify the playwrights’ process, allowing community members to engage intimately with the artistic practice of a working artist highlighting their stories. As an inaugural cohort named under the Latinx Playwrights Circle, in partnership with the Dramatists Guild of America, we aim to leverage this pivotal moment in the theater industry to advocate for diverse storytelling, from communities that have long been overlooked or marginalized. Our cohort exemplify the full breadth of the Latiné experience, are engaged community leaders, and as a curated collective of artistic agents, we aim to diversify the American theatrical landscape and redefine what it means to have a community-minded artistic practice.
