Please put this snack in a small container or bag separate from the lunchbox.

Being Responsible HEROs
We have strong routines in Te Kākano and encourage the students to take responsibility for their morning jobs and belongings.
Please let your child
carry their own bag into school
unpack their bag
carry their own snack & bottle into the class
If you are pressed for time, please let us know and we are happy to step in.
Each morning the students
indicate how they are feeling by putting their photo on the Zones wall,
drop off their drink bottle and snack
put their reading folder in the box
Can your child independently open everything in their lunchbox?
One way to support your child at school is to:
snip the end or top off packets, or remove the items from the packets before they go in the lunchboxes
put a small cut in the skin of fruit
avoid plastic fruit/jelly containers that have covers to be pulled off
make sure new lunch boxes & drink bottles are easy to open & close
We will pop a wee note in the lunchbox if your child has needed help to open an item.
Also, please name all containers and drink bottles. Children do not always recognise their own containers and we end up with a huge supply in a cupboard.
