Current unit of study:
Unit III: The Three Branches of Federal Government
In Honors Civics & Economics we are currently studying the three branches of federal government.
Students complete a project for each branch in this unit.
Students have successfully completed their "Who Represents N.C. in Congress" Project, in which they researched the representatives of each district in our state, as well as the two senators who represent us.
Next, they will be researching the President's Cabinet, looking more closely at each department that makes up this powerful panel of advisors to the president.
Lastly, they will research Landmark Supreme Court Cases and study what impact these cases have had on our country.
The "Three Branches" PPT is located below.
We are currently studying the Judicial Branch of the three branches and we are looking more carefully at prisons in NC and the prison system of the United States of America. Below is our PPT we are currently covering (week of October 15-17). Next week we will begin our study of the landmark Supreme Court cases that have shaped our nation.
