Resources to Help with Reading Skills

1 - Epic Books

Students can log in and find a wide collection of ebooks to read at home on their devices.

2 - Northwest Regional Library

The public library has lots of free resources for students to access. They can log on with their lunch number as their user name and the last four digits of their lunch number as the password. This is also called NC Cardinal which students in grades 3 and up should have heard about during a lesson in the media center.

3 - NCWise Owl

All of these resources are now available their your child's NCED Cloud account. If you need help logging in, please reach out to your child's teacher.

4 - MackinVia

You can find free online books through the MackinVia website. You will need the following log in information to access the resources.

A great place to access videos of people reading children's books to help build a love of reading in the students.

The website has stories that students can read and enjoy.

7 - Astronauts read to Kids from Space

Actors read books to kids

9 - KitLit

A great source to find books being read aloud.

10 - Harper Kids

Various books being read aloud.

11 - Little Brown Young Readers

Another publisher providing a variety of read alouds.
