Hi! I am an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics at Xavier University of Louisiana. Before coming to New Orleans in 2020, I did postdocs at the Academia Sinica Institute of Statistical Science in Taipei, Taiwan, and then at the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Saint Louis University. I completed my Ph.D. in mathematics under the supervision of Dr. Eric Schmutz at Drexel University in 2017.

My research lies in discrete mathematics (broadly construed), primarily in the realm of analytic combinatorics and probabilistic number theory. I will happily work on anything I can understand though. See my research page for more information.

Pictured above is my Tower of Hanoi model set, which is one of my favorite pedagogical aids. Go to my teaching page to learn more about who I am as an educator. If you wish to pry into my extraprofessional life, then head over to my personal page.

You can send me fan mail (or hate mail as the case may be) at cburnet2@xula.edu.
