DAY 4
We are back at the Eleftheriades library where Nikos is waiting for us again. He explains to us the planning they have stipulated for the user education and information literacy sessions in secondary school, then Apostolo explains the same thing but in primary school.
NIKOS
He tells us that there is a program called TRELLO to plan the course for the students. There is also a link to the presentations and materials needed to carry them out.
He shows us the presentation that Apostolo is doing with the students about user education; it is very visual, that is important.
From the library they give them support and guidance in the projects that the students are doing, he explains that there is a research week.
They do an orientation session to know how to ask a good question and how to do research and investigation of the topic chosen for their project (it is a type of research work).
They teach them how to use a research tool to find information about the chosen topic; the links and the material they find here are good links, it is similar to wikipedia but much more synthesized, visual, there are better links... there is a filter.
They show us a video explaining copyright; how to cite authors well, not to copy, to reference authors and found information. After this they ask a questionnaire with questions about situations and possible scenarios in which they can be found and in which they have to answer if it is right or not.
We leave the office and find part of the session that Apostolo is doing with the students, they are doing a gymkhana around the library.
Lucky pick lucky read⇒ activity to know more and better the books, recommendations of the students, to promote reading.
Top 5 readers; they have a list of the students and teachers who read the most. They make short videos to recommend books, like youtubers books. This way they have recommendations of some of the top 5.
There is an application AURORA STORE where they can make videos to recommend talking about the book; what this application allows is that they can scan the cover and an element of the book appears in 3D, clicking on it they can visualize the video. ⇒ I find it very interesting and attractive for the students.
Competition Great; they participate in a competition to write stories, like the floral games of our territory.
CIRCLE OF WRITERS collaborators, writers ⇒ there is a sort of students' wall where they make FEEDBACK contributions.
