Eukaryotes can be multicellular or single celled. It is the only Domain that consists of multicellular and visible organisms such as plants and animals. Eukaryotes are organisms which cells include a nucleus and any other membrane bound organelle (Scitable, n.d.).
Organisms classified under Animalia are multicellular and are heterotrophs meaning they eat other plants or animals for energy and nutrients. These organisms have no cell walls unlike plants (Study.com, 2021).
The name Chordata comes from the fact that the animals within the Phylum possess notochords. Notochords are a key characteristic of organisms of this Phylum. Notochords are a flexible and rod-shaped structure which provides skeletal support, axial muscles also attach to it. There are other characteristics of this Phylum such as the post-anal tail and the either endostyle or thyroid gland (Lumen, n.d.).
Reptilia is a class of air-breathing scaly skin vertebrae. Organisms classified under the Class Reptilia are cold-blooded, so they tend to live in warmer areas. The scales of organisms from this class can vary in size such as the small scales that can be found on dwarf geckos to turtles having the biggest scales (Dowling, n.d.).
The most recognizable trait from the Testudines Order would be the shell these organisms possess. The shell of a Testudines organism cannot be removed because it's a genetically modified ribcage made of their carapace and plastron. Organisms of this Order also have horny beaks, sprawling limbs, and short feet or flippers (Zug, n.d.).
Geoemydidae is a family of various turtles that can be found in Eurasia, North Africa and the tropical Americas. Organisms of this Family can measure up to 80cm in carapace length and weigh up to 50kg. Sexual dimorphism can be observed within this Family, sexual dimorphism is when there is a difference of size or appearance in one species between genders (Encyclopedia.com, n.d.).
It is a small genus of black marsh turtles. There are only 2 species under this genus. One being the Siebenrockiella crassicollis (Black Marsh Turtle) that can be found in Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The other being Siebenrockiella leytensis (Philippine Forest Turtle) that can be found in Palawan, Philippines (RepFocus, n.d.).
Siebenrockiella leytensis is a species of freshwater omnivorous turtles. The species can be considered quite heavy and large for its Family. Their most recognizable characteristic would be the white or yellowish line across its head (Diesmos et al., 2012).
