Denary is counting up by multiplying the previous number by 2, so it counts up like this: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 etc, and it has a 1 if it is true, and if it has a 0 it is false, so if the number is marked with a 1, it is an existent number and when counting up in Denary you will include the number, and if it is marked with a 0, you will ignore it when counting up, so in other words only count up with the numbers marked with 1.
