This session on Femtochemistry by Prof. Anindya Datta, HoD, Department of Chemistry, IIT Bombay, was an immensely educational and fulfilling experience. In addition to his lucid explanations of the concepts of Femtochemistry and its applications, Dr. Dutta, with the help of his lab members, gave a virtual tour of his laboratory, describing in detail the function and working of various instruments involved in this field such as TCSPC, Femtosecond Optical Gating, Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy. Demonstrations of the application of these techniques and instruments in different kinds of experiments and interpretation of the results were also provided.
