Frenesie A la francaise
Frenesie is the department festival which signifies the joy of giving expression to learning French through song, dance, painting and cuisine. In the month of December 2018 the students of the French department had staged a French musical, written and directed by the students under the aegis of Lingua Fest.

On 7 December 2017 a live radio programme ‘Radio Live’ was organised by Radio France under the aegis of ‘Bonjour India’ a two month long cultural exchange programme between France and India wherein French and Indian youth shared their Life stories on stage.
Programs organized by the department
On 11 April 2018 Ms. Cynthia Eid of FIPF (Federation Internationale des Preofesseurs de français) visited the department and spoke on ‘Innovative methods in teaching of French’.
In the month of July and August 2018 two workshops were organized for students of French. A translation workshop was conducted by Ms. Nitya Suryanarayan who has completed Masters in Translation and Interpretation from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Another workshop on Corpus thematique wherein students were taught how to elaborate a theme through various media of expression was conducted by Ms. Bandhuli Chattopadhyay. Both these students have been selected by the French Embassy for the Assistant Program 2017-18 under which they will be staying in France for 8 months and will be teaching English to French students.
A half day workshop was organised by IFI on 27 October 2018 conducted by Mr. Philippe Guillien Atttache Linguistique at the French Consulate Mumbai on ‘Teaching French as a foreign language’. Ms. Alpana Palkhiwale conducted a one day workshop on ‘Subtitling of Films’ at Fergusson College Pune on 11 March 2019.
Xynergy
In November 2019 students showcased the department in Xynergy. The highlights of department activities, career options were displayed.
Swachata Bharat Pakhwada
For the Swachata Bharat Pakhwada students had put up a skitin French on cleanliness and a poetry writing competition was organised.
French Day
In July 2019, French Day organized in collaboration with the French Consulate and IATF. It offered varied activities like career guidance workshop, workshop for teachers of French, scientific talks, cultural program with French songs and performances by renowned artists.
Social Involvement Programme
We identified students who were good in French language and those who were weak or beginners (especially students who had never done French before and needed remedial teaching) Those students who were good in French did remedial teaching of 5 hours for their SIP hours under the supervision of the teaching staff and SIP staff.
