Guest Lectures

2019-20

  1. A special guest lecture was held on 10 February 2020 by Dr. Mark Carine (Principal Curator in Charge of the Algae, Fungi and Plants Division, Department of Life Sciences, The Natural History Museum, London, United Kingdom) who had come from London. He spoke on taxonomic problems and understanding phylogenetic relationships in several taxa and island systems in the Atlantic.

  2. A special guest lecture was held on 10 February 2020 by Ms. Ranee Om Prakash (Curator of Flowering Plants –General Herbarium, Department of Life Sciences, The Natural History Museum, London, United Kingdom). Her topic of the talk was ‘Samuel Browne – A cross-cultural study of medicinal plant use from India’.

  3. A special talk held under BAX was given by Ms. Swapnaja Shinde (Founder and MD- Clinical Nutrition Pvt Ltd), to on ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship in Nutrition’ on 27 January 2020. Ms. Swapnaja nicely explained the different types of health problems and how they can be solved by proper nutrition. She also brought her health products; all the participants got the taste of the nutrition products.

  4. Dr. Sudhir Khodwekar (Senior Consultant and Head at SAFE (Seed Academy of Foreign Education, Thane, Maharashtra, India) gave a talk on 5 December 2019 on the opportunities that are available for the biology students who want to study abroad. He cleared the doubts of students and guided them on the different universities offering different programs, loan facility available with the banks, travel, and the opportunities which lie ahead after doing these courses.
