For my second component I have chosen the theme of unseen, I aim to delve into the realm of hidden narratives and obscured identities. Drawing inspiration from old photos, I intend to venture into the hidden stories and untold histories that lie beneath the surface. Through the lens of portraiture, I seek to capture the essence of individuals whose identities have been obscured, whether by the passage of time, societal expectations, or personal struggles.
Central to my project is the manipulation of facial features, a technique through which I intend to convey the theme of Unseen. By obscuring or removing facial featurs, I aim to convey the hidden aspects of our lives, the parts of ourselves that are unseen or hidden from the world. Whether via subtle adjustments or major changes, I hope to create a feeling of mystery and intrigue, asking viewers to reflect on the complexity of human life and the layers of identity that affect our views.
Through this investigation of the Unseen, I hope to cast light on the natural beauty and depth of our own secret areas in life and our collective past. By using old family images as a visual archive of my past, I hope to discover stories that have been obscured by time and memory, ultimately providing a look into the hidden depths of what the human existence really is filled with.
