The Quest
A Knight's Journey: The Quest For Knightly Virtues
We shall follow Sir Gawain's journey from Camelot to the Green Knight's Castle. Along the way, there are challenges to be met by a pure heart, a sharp mind and a strong arm.
Please assemble your teams and be ready to sign up. If you are lacking an authorized fighter/fencer, recruit them as they get ready for the list!
We will have a meeting at the Quest Master's Station at the beginning of the event to go over the rules, hand out the Quest cards and answer any questions.
Rules:
1. There will be a series of challenges on this quest, each representing a knightly virtue. The goal for each team is to complete all the challenges, earning one or more tokens for each. The team that finishes with the most tokens wins. (In the case of a tie, the team that finished first will break the tie and be declared the winner.)
2. Must have three people on a team (families with small children can bring them along)
3. One of the team must be an authorized fighter (heavy or rapier), this person represents 'The Questing Knight'. The other two members of the team are stalwart Companions, helping the Questing Knight. (We suggest that one be good at story telling, and the other have steady hands and nerves. Think of them as a Bard and an Alchemist!)
4. Every team must have a unique name (no duplicates). If you come up with a clever or funny name appropriate for the Quest, your team may earn a token for it, at the Quest Master's discretion.
5. The first challenge is to participate in the tournament (heavy or rapier). This is the only challenge open for all teams in the first half of the event. All the remaining challenges will be available from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, at which point the quest comes to a close. (This is so any non fighters on the team can attend classes, etc, although we suggest supporting your Questing Knight at the first challenge!)
6. With the exception of the tournament portion of the first challenge, all challenges require your entire team to be present, and they may be attempted in any order. This also includes your fighter when they are done with the list. This will help your team to collect the maximum amount of coins for the 1st station.
7. If you have any questions ahead of time, you can email the Quest Master at kathypalmr@aol.com. Please be sure to put "Quest Questions" in the Subject line.
