Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

The Board established a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) in July, 2004, as authorized in W.S. 35-7-1060. The Board collects Schedule II-V controlled substance prescription information from all resident and non-resident retail pharmacies that dispense to residents of Wyoming.

Eligible new users can click on "Create an Account" on the PMP AWARxE Wyoming website and follow the instructions to create a new account. Here are some useful guides to the new PMP AWARxE system:

Dispenser Reporting

As required by Wyo. Stat. § 35-7-1060 and the State of Wyoming Controlled Substance Act Rules Chapter 8, Section 5:

Dispensers shall ensure that, not later than the close of business on the business day immediately following the day the controlled substance, or drug of concern, was dispensed, the information required pursuant to this Chapter is reported into the PMP Clearinghouse.

All dispensers of controlled substances, other than veterinarians, are required to transmit this information to the Bamboo Health PMP Clearinghouse.

REGISTRATION AS A DISPENSER

The Data Submission Dispenser Guide explains the process to register and transmit data to the Bamboo Health PMP Clearinghouse. The Bamboo Health PMP Clearinghouse is for data submission only.

PMP AWARxE Wyoming - Integration

Streamline your workflow. Save Time. Focus on Patient Care.

PMP AWARxE Wyoming can now be accessed through approved electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems (PMS).

The Board is pleased to announce a statewide initiative to integrate PMP AWARxE Wyoming into approved EHR/PMS using Bamboo Health’s PMP Gateway service. The integration will eliminate the need for providers to navigate to the PMP AWARxE Wyoming website, log in, and enter their patient’s information. Instead, the EHR/PMS will automatically initiate a patient query, which will return the patient’s controlled substance prescription records directly within the clinical workflow inside the EHR/PMS.

It is important to note that not all EHR/PMS vendors are currently integrated. Please submit your integration request anyway, as the status may change as new vendors are regularly integrated. Your integration process and duration time is dependent upon your vendor.

What is the integration request process?
