WYNANTSKILL PTA OFFICERS
2024- 2025 Officers
Jennie Brown
President
I attended GD as a youth from K-8, moved on to Averill Park HS, HVCC, SUNY Albany, and Cazenovia College. I’ve served as PTA secretary and again as PTA Vice President for 2 terms each (total of 4 years), started by serving on the PreK Planning Committee, loved it, and needed more. I love being involved and helping to assist our great school and staff to become even better!
I’ve volunteered for many events and fundraisers etc and try my best to be as present as possible. Sometimes parents and staff joke with me asking if I ever leave school and if I sleep there! I love our team and I love our members. PTA is like a family and we are all just doing what we can to improve the experience for all students. The student’s smiles and laughter fill me with such joy and pride and every ounce of effort is always worth just one smile.
I am all about advocating for our lovely PTA and I am grateful for any additional support that we receive. It’s a personal goal of mine to grow our membership as much as possible in the next two years and I’d love to personally invite anyone who would like, to attend a meeting or just stop in and see if PTA is for you. You never know if you’ll love it as much as I do. I am always here to help anyone who needs me. My famous last words: I’m literally a text away.
Jen O'Loughlin
Vice President
I was PTA secretary for the last 2 school years, starting in the middle of the pandemic, which was challenging, but educational. I’ve volunteered with Science Club, Lego Club, and the Scholastic Book Fair and have loved it. If you have any questions about what volunteering for those entails, I can help!
I am a proud nerd, and I love animals, Disney, Marvel, and science. Some of my many hobbies include baking, gardening, photography, planning birthday parties & family movie nights, and crafting. I love being outside, especially when it’s near the water. I love music, whether it’s doing Just Dance with the kids, or singing loudly in the car!
Seeing the kids enjoying our events makes all the time and effort worth it. While I will miss making WPTA memes for our meeting invites, I’m looking forward to my term as Vice President! I am very passionate about DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) and mental health and hope to incorporate related events throughout the school year.

Treasurer
The 2023-24 school year will be my second year as a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher at Gardner-Dickinson. Prior to coming to GD, I taught third grade for 20 years and then kindergarten for six years at Boght Hills School in the North Colonie Central School District. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor adventures including hiking, kayaking, and camping. During the colder months, I enjoy sewing and machine quilting while watching crime dramas, tear-jerker movies, and anything involving the Marvel Universe. I look forward to supporting the students at GD and our PTA in my role as treasurer!

Jamie O'Brien
Secretary
I have been a primary teacher for 16 years, 10 of those years being in my favorite position: Kindergarten teacher! I joined GD’s faculty six years ago when I left Ballston Spa Central School District to be closer to home in Troy, where I live with my husband and three sons. I love to find ways to support our students and families, and this year I am looking forward to assisting our PTA as the Finance Committee Chair.
