As a diverse and dynamic subject, it can open doors to careers across the globe, from environmental management and urban planning to disaster response and international development. 

BGS is committed to promoting awareness of careers in geoscience and developing a diverse talent pipeline of the next generation of geoscientists. As part of this commitment, we will be offering three work experience schemes that have been tailored for students at various stages of their education.

There has never been a more important time to use geographical knowledge and skills to pursue a career. None of the changes and challenges facing the UK and the world in the 21st century, including climate change, energy security, migration, urbanisation and globalisation, can be properly understood, let alone tackled, without geography.
