Story Blurb: One bad place, one escape, two brothers.
Life used to be good, before the storm. I lost everything, everything but my little brother Philap. My name is Railn Ornin. Right now I’m in jail camp D 4 R S, this is the story of how I got here. It’s the year 3000 five years after the storm, in camp D 4 R S under the leadership of Cralp Nordschleife. He runs it like a prison. We can’t go outside the wall not even during the shortages.
My brother and I lived in the residential area, which is on the outer part of the camp near the wall. The jail was close to our tent. Now we are in jail. The head tent is in the center surrounded by the storage area.
I had almost figured out how to get out, but it is a very complicated thing. So far at this point, only ten people have made it out. But they had it easy. They were on an outside expedition team. No one has escaped since. Enough backstory, time to get to the actual story. I was laying in bed trying to figure out the rest of my escape of D 4 R S to the outside land. I am a wall guard, so that made things easier. Now I just need to source a rope and find a way to get Philap to the top of the wall with me.
“Hey bro,” said Philap.
“Hey” I responded.
“We have an internship program coming up soon, what should I intern as,” asked Philap.
“Wall guard” I responded.
“Ok, thanks for the advice” Philap replied.
Got that part done, now for the rope. Now, where do I get one of those? “RAILN ORNIN YOU ARE NEEDED FOR A Code S CLEANUP,”
someone yelled so loud it could be heard for miles.
Code s helps with the rope situation. Got the rope, now to wait till that internship program rolls around.
Five Days Later
During the five days was a lot of reviewing and refining the plan on how to escape D 4 R S. Eventually, the five days passed and it was almost time to enact my plan to get out. I was lucky. The other guard was sick and my brother got to cover for him.
“LUNCH FOR SECTOR B2,” someone yells
“Go,” I whispered to Philap.
We climb down the wall during the lunch break. As we touch down, the alarms started going off rapidly after our feet reached the ground and we started running for as long and as far as humanly possible trying to get to the lake as soon as possible. Within five minutes we are getting chased.
“WERE GETTING CHASED,” I yelled to philap, “RUN FASTER.”
We proceeded to then run into the forest which smelled like freshly fallen rain and pine and make a confusing trail if they wanted to follow us into the forest. We shimmied up a tree to safety and hear them trying to find us without looking into the thick dense brush of the trees above.
Once they pass we shimmy down the old pine tree and continue on our way to the lake through the densely wooded forest. We passed through the forest fairly easily and nobody had been following us. And so we reached the lake during the late afternoon.
We decided to check the safety of the lake so I stuck my finger in the water of the lake and it felt like a warm bath and my finger felt and looked normal so we decided to taste it.
The water had a metallic taste to it.
“It tastes metallic,” I told Philap.
It was at that moment we heard a twig snap and I knew that we were about to be caught by the police.
But still, I yelled, “To the water.”
And we both run and jump into the lake, but they planned for this and brought a boat.
One of them yelled, “FREEZE.”
and I know it was over so I do. But, but Philip kept going.
The same dude yelled, “FREEZE 8196.”
And I told him “It’s over, come back.”
and he did.
We were then promptly put in handcuffs and escorted back to D 4 R S and put in the jail of D 4 R S for life on charges of treason, an escape of the border, and reckless endangerment. And that brings us to now sitting in jail waiting for time to pass. Sitting here alone in solitary for the foreseeable future, jail forever.
Alone... forever… living? Maybe… trapped? Definitely.
