“If life can remove someone you never dreamed of losing, it can replace them with someone you never dreamt of having.” On the wedding day of Lucas “Luke” and Bailey, it was such a joyful day. Bailey was wearing her white dress with a long train and a laced up back. Luke was wearing a black tux with a camo tie. Bailey was waiting for her dad to come, to walk her down the aisle. When her dad finally came over, she was so nervous.
“Dad, don’t let me fall,” she said.
“I will never let you fall.”
As Bailey and her dad started walking down the aisle, Bailey and Luke’s eyes met, and they both had tears coming out of there eyes. Her dad kissed her on the cheek and handed her off. They said their vows, and then the priest said,
“You may now kiss the bride.”
A couple hours later when opening one of their wedding gifts, a husky puppy jumped out and give Bailey a big slobbery kiss. Everyone was ecstatic. Luke asked,
“What is this cute little things name?”
Someone yells his name is Ozzy.
Bailey said, “That is such a cute name!”
That night, Bailey, Luke, and their new puppy, Ozzy, got in the car and drove to the airport. At 4:30 the cold crisp morning air wiped through Bailey’s hair.
“Oh my goodness this is some strong wind,” Bailey said and Luke agreed.
They got to the airport, and the smell was horrible. It smelled like rotten milk and nasty, sweaty, feet. Ozzy put his paws over his nose and then fell into a deep sleep.
“Come on buddy we have to get on the plane,” said Luke.
Luke woke up to the smell of puppy breath, juicy smoked bacon, and yellow, smooth eggs.
“Good morning honey do you want some breakfast,” Bailey said. Luke with a crackly voice said,
“Morning, and yes I would love some breakfast.”
“Good morning puppy. How did you sleep? You have so much energy.”
“Hey, Luke do you want to go exploring today? Maybe that will help Ozzy get some energy out.”
“Where do you want to go?”
“Well, I mean we are in Brooklyn, New York.”
“Let's go to Dreamland,” said Bailey.
“Ok,” said Luke.
They walked out of the hotel, got in their black car, and took off to Dreamland. On the way there they stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got two thin mint iced coffees. Bailey had one sip and was like,
“WOW, that is some delicious coffee!”
Bailey fell asleep listening to radio.
“We are here Bailey! Wake up, we are here!”
“What? Oh, we are here, okay!!” exclaimed Bailey.
They got out of the car and what they saw was the most horrendous, worst thing they had ever seen, but it will still be the perfect place to explore!”
“Hey, Bailey let's take the Wacky Tacky's, ok?”
“Okay Luke, if you want to.” They started to walk down to the gate and there was a lock on it. Bailey said,
“Well, I guess we can go somewhere else,” Her new husband Luke replied,
“No we don’t. I have bulk cutters in the car.” Luke went and got them and came back with sweat dripping off him and it was only 65 degrees out.
“Babe are you alright?” asked Bailey.
“Umm... Yeah, I’m just tired I guess.”
“Okay luke, if you say so.” So they just keep walking around, and everything was rusty and old and smelled like rotten tomatoes.
They were walking, and the Ozzy smelled a squirrel and pulled the leash out of Bailey’s hand. She fell to the ground.
“Are you okay?!” Luke helped her up.
“Yeah, I’m okay,”
“I'm going to go after Ozzy, okay? I will be back in a few minutes, and we can then go back to the hotel.” Luke ran off to fetch the puppy.
“Ozzy, come here boy!” Luke yelled, searching for the dog. Ozzy stopped and looked back for about 5 seconds and then kept running.
He ran past the merry-go-round and passed the Ferris Wheel and then ran through a big barn and then over the stage without looking back.
Luke ran over the old rickety stage, and boom! A loud cracking sound came out as Luke fell through and pierced his leg with a steel pole, he slammed his head off a big rock and broke his back. He was out cold.
After about 20 minutes Bailey started to get worried. She started to walk in the direction that Luke had gone in. Then she called on the walky-talky and said
“Luke? Can you hear me, where are you?” he did not answer.
She looked everywhere. The Ferris Wheel, the merry go round, all over. She then noticed Ozzy smelling one of the old trash cans. Bailey yells at Ozzy and says,
“Come here Ozzy, now!” the puppy comes running and knocks Baily down into the mud. She stood up and said, “Let's go find Luke, okay Ozzy?” Ozzy wined, and they started to walk towards the tent.
Meanwhile Luke was still unconscious, he was breathing but was still unconscious.
It was getting pretty dark and Bailey was freaking out. She took her phone out, there was no service.
“Come on you stupid phone just work!”
Bailey started to cry, crystal, white tears fell down her pale, cold cheeks. She decides to go back to the merry-go-round.
The harsh cold wind wiped through her hair and gave her shivers all down her body.
Bailey and Ozzy climbed into a sleigh on the merry go round and fell asleep. They woke up to a loud scream, it was like she grabbed Ozzy’s leash and said take me to him, boy.
Ozzy ran hard and fast they past the ferris wheel and the stage. They heard crying and Bailey rushed to the edge of the old light brown stage and saw the hole.
“Lucas?”
“Bailey, I can’t move!”
“Alright, let me get help” she shakedly pulled her phone out of her muddy wet pocket, she had two bars of service. She dialed 911 and an ambulance was on the way.
“Luke, can you hear me?” She said
“Bailey I'm scared.”
“Luke, everything is going to be okay.”
“No Bailey! I can't feel my legs!”
Luke faded to the sound of the ambulance sirens and Bailey screamed, “Lucas!” With tears streaming down her cheeks she motioned for the ambulance to come towards the stage.
