For those who aren't sure what this project is and its purpose, I'm here to highlight the importance of what I did and why it was detrimental.
For this project, you were to choose an SDG closely related to your project or an SDG best suited for your project. My project was based on mental health, so I figured it'd be best to make sure the SDG I used was SDG 3: Good health and Well-being. The sole purpose of my project was to make awareness to mental health in young adults across the world and what we can do to improve the rate of fatalities due to suicide because people weren't granted the proper needs to benefit their mental health.
For my project, I made informative slides and for the most part, it went really well. I presented what I had and purposely made the slides look very serene to capture the idea of peace of mind and positive ideas to implement into your routine if you're ever feeling a little down or just need help.
Initially, the idea I had for this project was a big assembly to put on for students. With that though, I would've had to go through administration, find time for the psychiatrist to talk to students, and properly organize where the event would be, what day it would be, and what time it would be. That, I would say was my only downfall for the project because I didn't necessarily get to do what I wanted, but the good thing is that I still was able to get my point across without the assembly and without the doctor. Considering how busy he is with his own work, it would be hard to find some time to have the assembly. Overall though, my project was great and I was able to present at the night of freedom to people to share and make awareness to mental health across the board.
This overall was my favorite part of the project because I got to speak with a real psychiatrist and discuss some ideas to help form my project. I was able to speak to this psychiatrist because my father is a psychiatric social worker, so he had those connections and also happens to be really close with the doctor. We got to have dinner and he suggested I do polls and make the slides fun, but informative.
For the most part, my day would start at 7:12 in the morning with AGS so that I had some time to work on my slides. I was able to finish my slides and present them at the Night Of Freedom. Of course, I had bigger plans for my project, but not every things goes as planned, which leads into what went well and what didn't...
