Welcome to Our AGS Capstone!
What is AGS?
Academic Global Studies (AGS) is an optional program you can choose to take throughout all four years of high school. It requires students to arrive at school an hour earlier than the regular schedule. AGS focuses on global issues and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. The program provides students with a deeper understanding of these challenges while teaching research skills, critical thinking, and the ability to debate or defend their perspectives on each goal. Additionally, AGS includes an annual trip where students visit educational sites such as museums and the 9/11 Memorial. The program also offers an endorsement for those who complete it.
What is the Capstone?
The Capstone is a project for us seniors, where we choose a global issue from the United Nations' list and conduct thorough research of it. Which we then develop a plan of action to address the issue in a meaningful way. The goal is to inspire people within or even outside of the community to adopt safe and responsible solutions, ultimately making a positive impact.
