Our capstone connects to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, which focuses on promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full employment, and decent work for all. This goal is important because it encourages innovation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities especially for young people. Through our project, we’re putting SDG 8 into action by creating a student-led clothing brand that gives students real experience in business, design, and marketing..
Another major SDG that closely relates to us is SDG 12 as we will be using local materials to make the clothing product itself. This goal is important because industries like fashion often create large amounts of waste and pollution through overproduction and fast fashion. Through our project, we support SDG 12 by using local materials to produce our clothing, which helps reduce transportation emissions, support local suppliers, and promote more responsible and sustainable production practices.
