My name is Jadden Rumph, I am a graduating AGS (Academy Global Studies) senior scholar.
My goal is to pursue a career in counseling psychology and ultimately become a licensed therapist. I aspire to be the first member of my family to earn a doctorate degree. What inspired me to choose this path? My grandmother. She dedicated her life to nursing—helping and caring for others with compassion. She was the kind of woman who welcomed everyone into her heart and home, regardless of their background, sexuality, religion, or race. Her kindness and inclusivity left a lasting impact on me, and I am motivated to follow in her footsteps by offering the same level of empathy and support to those in need; in my own way of course.
A dream I have is to earn enough money to travel the world while also highlighting the importance of mental health and perseverance. I hope to change the philosophy regarding how society views mental health, helping people understand its significance in overall well-being and the role perseverance plays in overcoming challenges. By raising awareness and promoting open conversations, I aim to reduce stigma, provide support for those struggling, and encourage individuals to take charge of their mental health as part of a balanced, fulfilling life.
After I graduate I plan to attend University of Kentucky.
