Supports the board’s effort to build scholarship & grant awareness, prepares applications, reviews applicants, and selects finalists to present to the board for approval. 

Meetings are set by the committee chair.  Committee reports are due the Friday prior to a board meeting. 

Section 4.4 Grants and Scholarship Committee.  At the annual meeting, a Grant and Scholarship Committee shall be established.  The committee chair shall be nominated and approved by the Board of Directors during the annual meeting.  The Grant and Scholarship Committee will be responsible for developing a rubric and evaluating grant and scholarship applications for the Foundation.

Scholarships

(Students apply for scholarships and should select only those they qualify for based on each scholarship’s criteria.)

1. Annie Gotwald Memorial STEM Scholarship – Honors a Westfield student passionate about STEM, supporting graduates pursuing a collegiate STEM degree.

2. Ava Stewart “Be the Light” Scholarship - A Westfield High School graduate with a 3.0 GPA or higher who exemplifies kindness, integrity, positivity, service, inclusion, and school spirit.  

3. Bright Future – Elements Financial Scholarship – Recognizes students showing promise and potential, promoting financial wellness and youth development.

4. Caitie Wood Music Scholarship – Supports students pursuing training in any area of music, inspired by dedication to Westfield’s band program.

5. Casting Bright Futures – Carl M. Steele Memorial Scholarship – For juniors or seniors passionate about the outdoors and fishing, recommended by the WHS Fishing Club.

6. CORE Construction: Built on Trust Scholarship – Supports graduates pursuing construction, engineering, architecture, business, urban planning, or related fields.

7. Craig Wood Family Agricultural Science Scholarship – Supports students pursuing education in agriculture.

8. CSO Architects, Inc. Scholarship for Architecture to Interior Design – Supports students pursuing architecture, design, or related internships and courses.

9. Deputy Marshal David Brown Service to Community Scholarship – Encourages students pursuing careers in public safety.

10. Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bray Science Scholarship Fund – Supports seniors pursuing science, medicine, mathematics, or technology.

11. Duane Lutz Family Scholarship – Awarded to a graduating senior golfer pursuing higher education.

12. Dylan McGinnis Memorial Scholarship – Supports graduates pursuing technical, trade, or vocational education.

13. The Farmers Bank Business & Finance Studies Scholarship – For students pursuing finance, accounting, or business.

14. Forté Future in Technology Scholarship -  This scholarship supports students pursuing careers in technology, including software, IT, cybersecurity, robotics, digital design, cloud computing, and electronics.

15. Friends of Hamilton County Parks, Inc. YOUTH Recreation Leader Scholarship Fund – This scholarship supports students intending to pursue college studies in parks and recreation, conservation, natural resources, health and wellness, or a related field.

16. Garmong Construction: Building Your Future Scholarship – Supports students committed to academic excellence and community service in construction or leadership.

17. Gift Family Golf Scholarship – Honors student-athletes demonstrating sportsmanship, integrity, and perseverance in golf.

23. The James W. “Bill” Wood Scholarship Fund – Supports graduating seniors continuing education, honoring the Wood family’s legacy.

24. The Jay Wood Athletic Student Manager Scholarship – Rewards student managers who demonstrate commitment, service, and perseverance.

25. Justin Steill Homes With Steill Real Estate & Leadership Scholarship – This scholarship honors Westfield High graduates who demonstrate strong character and aspire to leadership in business, real estate, or entrepreneurship

26. Kim Simons Future Educator Scholarship Fund – Supports future educators inspired by Kim Simons’ dedication and compassion.

44. Westfield–IU Kokomo Pathways Scholarship – This scholarship supports Westfield High graduates who enroll full-time at IU Kokomo and pursue an academic pathway that advances their career goals.

45. Westfield Living Magazine – What I Love About Westfield – Awards one graduate whose article about living in Westfield is selected for publication.

46. The William and Barbara Sampson Family Scholarship – Honors the Sampson family’s dedication and generosity, supporting continuing education.

47. The Xavier John McDonald Scholarship Fund – Supports students continuing Xavier’s legacy in music and academics.

48. The Zipparo Family B.E.C.I.S. Scholarship Fund – Supports graduates attending a four-year college majoring in Business, Engineering, or CIS.

AWARDS

1. David L. Adams Academic Award – Recognizes students with the greatest GPA improvement from 9th–12th grade, attending two- or four-year colleges.

2. Ray Huser Foundation Athletic Award – Supports students demonstrating character, athletic participation, and financial need.

3. Tommie Moore Athletic Award – Awards football players demonstrating skill, positive attitude, and academic achievement.

4. WHS Mentorship Award – Celebrates students embodying Life Ready principles through leadership and mentoring in the Freshman Mentor Program.
