Originally starting off the season as our starting Flex Support player, Michael stepped up for the team and transitioned to becoming our starting Flex DPS and Tracer player during his debut year. His willingness to adapt to the change, in-game shotcalling, and display of mechanical skill to create winning opportunities from nothing makes him a standout player in our program and a deserved recipient of the Cardinals Impact MVP Award.
Having some big shoes to fill after our original Tank player role-swapped to Main DPS for the season, Andy stepped up to the challenge of becoming the Overwatch Team’s starting Tank player. Expanding his hero pool and learning about high level macro and teamwork strategy, he evolved massively throughout Spring to help Cardinals OW2 punch above other higher ranked teams. Andy’s improvement over the regular season and playoffs makes him a deserved recipient of the Cardinals Growth Award.
Although Katie is an amazing player, she had a tough debut season ahead of her due to her main being a lower tier and slower character. Heading into a league where high skilled players are piloting high tier characters, Katie put in a lot of work during practice against her teammates to learn from them, and graciously took all advice and feedback to level up and finish in the Round of 32 in Playoffs. A deserved recipient of the Cardinals Growth Award, we’re excited to see her progress next year.
As co-captain for our VALORANT Team, Manny was integral in ensuring the team had cohesion on and off the server during meetings, practices, and matches. Manny also stepped up by putting his own time to practicing, VOD reiviewng, and learning macro strategy.
As one of our consistent starters for our Overwatch Team, Noah stepped up in a big way by shot calling, coordinating the team, and organizing extra practices as we navigated field a 9-player roster this season. Noah's voice on the team was essential to making sure all of our puzzle pieces were together, and as a freshman he has a lot of room to grow.
Involved in two of our rosters this season, Anthony became our best fragger in VALORANT and an amazing shot caller in Overwatch. Anthony grew from being a an amazing roleplayer last year to becoming a leader and integral piece of our Esports Program.
Inaugural member of Cardinals Esports and our Rocket League Program, Devin is one of the first players in our program to have a Regional Championship in the High School Esports League under his belt, which was immediately followed by a strong debut performance at Nationals.
