The Humanities can be simply described as the study of how people process and document the human experience. Exploration of the humanities provides our students with insight into everything from poetry to politics to language and culture. Studying the human experience enriches our students' understanding of the world they live in, and provides them with perspective to imagine the future. The goal of the WRMS Humanities Department is to guide students in interpreting the world and its diverse interconnectedness. Lessons of empathy and compassion will stay with students long after their experience in the classroom. More than ever, the Humanities help students discover what is meaningful , what matters, and who they are as individuals--a vital process for adolescents.
