Critical Thinking

Graduates of Westwood Regional High School:

• Learn to reason effectively, use systems thinking, make judgments and decisions based off of analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and reflection,

• Ask questions that lead to better solutions and solve problems in conventional and creative ways.

• Engage in problem solving, inquiry, and design of innovative solutions to overcome obstacles and to improve outcomes.

• Use information in creative ways to strengthen comprehension and deepen awareness.

• Demonstrate divergent and ingenious thought to enhance the design-build process.

• Express thoughts, ideas, and emotions meaningfully through the arts.

• Evaluate ideas and informational sources for validity, relevance, and impact.

• Reason through and weigh evidence to reach conclusions.

• Consider multiple strategies and solutions to complex problems

• Consistently analyze, assess, and reflect to enhance the quality of their own thinking

• Apply intentional thinking that is clear, logical, and informed by evidence

• Propose solutions that are mindful of the impact they may have on self and others
