These courses are designed for incoming kindergarteners who are registered to start in the 2023-2024 school year.

The Westwood Regional Summer Enrichment Program unveils the academic, social, and emotional preparation your child needs in order to prepare him/her for future Kindergarten days! Our courses introduce your emergent learner to foundational STEAM and VPA concepts through interactive games, guided play, hands on learning, and encourages their innovative side to explore the world around them!

Ready, Set, Go! Get ready for KINDERGARTEN with Storybook STEM

Course Available - Period 1

Is your rising KINDERGARTENER a budding engineer? Do they ask questions and wonder about the world around them? Welcome to Storybook STEM where after reading a story, students will identify a problem and discover a solution to that problem through the engineering process. Each STEM activity uses elements of science, technology, engineering and math to solve problems (and also art!). We will bring the FUN in reading and make stories come to life!

Ready, Set, Go! Get ready for KINDERGARTEN with Math Fun

Course Available - Period 2

Come get ready for KINDERGARTEN with an introduction to Kindergarten Math skills. We will learn and practice the skills of one to one correspondence, patterns, shapes, colors, and the numbers 0-10. Through songs, games, centers, and art projects we will bring out the FUN in Math.

Nature STEM

Course Available - Period 3

Let’s explore the outside world and nature through STEAM. In this course, we will combine materials found in nature to produce bird portraits, fairy stick dolls, nature crowns, tie-dye art and more! Who knew nature and art could be so fun?

Little Picassos

Course Available - Period 4

This course will emphasize creativity through experimentation while students expand their artmaking skills. Students will create 2D and 3D project-based activities using a variety of mediums and techniques including paper sculptures, collage, watercolors, modeling clay, and more. Students will be encouraged to use art as a means of communication and self expression as they develop their own artistic voice.
