Homework

Each student who is working on their speech sounds has a speech folder, which should be brought to every speech session. Weekly homework will be given to ensure carry-over of skills. Assignments should be completed with a parent or guardian in order to link skills that develop in the speech room to the home setting. Through homework assignments, parents and guardians will become familiar with their child's speech goals, which will help them to reinforce correct sound production throughout the day. Please use the activities in the speech folder to reinforce newly-obtained skills.

Each homework assignment must be signed by a parent or guardian to confirm completion. Students will receive a sticker on their homework folder for every completed and signed assignment.

The speech folder can also be used as a method of communication between therapist and parent/guardian. Please share any information regarding special weekend events, interests, likes, dislikes, etc., as speech and language activities are often more meaningful if they are made relevant to the student's life and interests.
