Background

The American Revolution was a time when the British colonists in America rebelled against the rule of Great Britain. There were many battles fought and the colonies gained their freedom and became the independent country of the United States. The American Revolutionary War lasted from 1775 until 1783.

Research

Project

There were many important battle that were fought during the American Revolutionary War. For this project, we will be focusing on three battles and one event that took place during this time: The Battle of Trenton, Battle of Saratoga and the Battle of Yorktown and taking a deeper look into the long winter spent at Valley Forge.

Directions for Research Project:

Please use the following playlist along with your graphic organizer sheets for each of the major battles/events of the Revolutionary War. You will need to complete a graphic organizer sheet for each of the following: Battle of Trenton (Crossing of the Delaware River), The Winter Retreat to Valley Forge, The Battle of Saratoga, and the Battle of Yorktown. This playlist activity will take you several days to complete.
