This is the first unit of study for all grades. In this unit, students learn the routines of Media class/library checkout as well as proper book care.
Students in 2nd and 3rd grade learn to navigate the nonfiction sections of the library.
In this unit, students learn how to be safe, respectful and responsible online.
Students also learn basic computer and technology skills.
The research unit varies by grade level, but ultimately, students learn how to use a variety of sources to gather information. Students also learn the importance of giving credit to authors.
This is an ongoing unit of study, as students will often create during their Media class. This includes hands-on activities such as drawing, crafting, and Makerspace time, as well as digital creations, such as coding, robotics, Canva and Google Slides, and more.
