One you master the Camera Rules Quiz (100%), you may sign up under the "Ready for Group" list on the board. Teacher will check to makes sure you completed all previous assignments.

For the following camera activities, you will work with 2 other classmates to learn the camera.

In your assigned group, review the slideshow, each student will practice the 3 activities until you have each mastered the tasks.

Assessment 2: Camera and Tripod Practical Quiz by Teacher

Review the attached checklist. When ready, teacher will assess all members of your group for a quiz grade. You will quiz in a group. You are not ready to take the practical quiz until all members of your group have mastered all tasks on the checklist. Please be advised, teacher may also ask you to say the camera rules.

Begin Production Shot Size Project

Once you have taken both assessments and been approved by teacher to continue, students will work in teacher assigned groups determined by readiness.

Each student will record each of the following shots: ECU, CU, MCU, MS, MLS, LS, Pan, Tilt to tell a simple story.

You must use a tripod (Make sure it is level and eye level.)

Make sure to white balance and set focus.

Final Cut Pro X Software Orientation Video (Homework)

Watch Video. Make notes in notebook as you watch. Draw and label interface: Include Event Library (Sometimes called Media Bin or Clip Bin), Project, Viewer, Import Media Button.

Begin Post-Production Final Cut Pro: Create Library, Event and Project

Click on the link to the left and open in new page of the Production Process website. Watch the video and read the directions. (Optional homework)

In Final Cut Pro, create a New Library Event, Project (Last Name - Shot Size Project.)

Name your Library "Shot Size Project"

Edit: Import Media

Click on the link to the left and open in new page of the Production Process website.

In Final Cut Pro and using camera, Import your Media into your Library. (This will create a new Event with the capture date)

**Each student must import and Edit the footage in which they were camera operator into their assigned computer.

Select Clips, Sequence Clips In Timeline

Simply select video clips in Event/Media Bin and Drag them to your Project Timeline.

Make sure to include all 8 Required Shots

Label Titles Using "Lower Thirds" Titles

Select website to the left and open in new screen. Watch and read directions on how to insert title into Timeline.

Make sure to choose one of the lower Thirds Titles. (Click on text "Lower Thirds" to Open the menu selection.)(Bottom of list as pictured left.)

Label each shot with the appropriate shot size.

Include abbreviation in space marked "Description"

Create Front Title Card

Include Front Title Card with student name and Title.

If you choose a basic title, play around with changing the font size and color in the Inspector. Read more about it here.

Create End Credits

Credits include correct job titles: Camera Operator, Assistant Camera Operator, Model

Include all people who helped you.

Gives credit to the composer if you use music. (As always, use royalty-free music with permission only.)

Titles and all names must be spelled correctly.

Thank people in credits who helped you, supervised you, and donated time, money or services.

Create a Thumbnail

A thumbnail is a small representation of a picture on a web page,

usually containing a hyperlink to a full-size version of the graphic.

Thumbnails are used to load pages that have lots of graphics or

pictures more quickly in a Web browser.

Make one so that I may use it for YouTube.
