This is my 3rd year teaching in the Westwood Regional School District. This program has grown tremendously in the last two years that I have been here, and I am looking forward to watching it grow even more. Mrs. Jasmin Yoo will be taking over for me in the coming weeks.
Thank you WWRSD!!!
I started singing before I could even talk! My dad is a singer/songwriter, and he always used to sing to me while I was growing up. I started singing one day, and I have not stopped since.
In my professional career as a singer, I have had the opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall, the Theatre at Madison Square Garden, NJPAC, PNC Bank Arts Center, the Stone Pony and even tour abroad in London and Europe. I am also a registered songwriter (ASCAP)
I received my degrees in Communication and Media Arts from Montclair State University, and in Music Education/Voice from William Paterson University. I am currently pursuing my Master's in Vocal Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College at Rider University!
I am still a very active performer, singing with wedding bands, professional choral ensembles and in churches on the weekends. I have taken my love of music to the stage AND to the classroom! It is so important to me to share my love of music with as many students as possible. I am so excited to be teaching choir and general music at WRMS.
In my free time, I love playing video games, painting, drinking as much coffee as humanly possible and spending time with my family and friends.
I am also super excited because I get to marry my soulmate this year!
On January 19, 2024, I will become Mrs. Competello!
Here is a recent video of me singing "Stars and the Moon" from the Song Cycle "Songs for a New World" by Jason Robert Brown. This video also features Chloe Borthwick, singer and Warren Helms, piano.
This is a live video of me playing and singing my rendition of "Let it Be" by the Beatles. If you know this one, sing along with me! :)
