Welcome to an exciting year ahead in Kindergarten! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of your child's early education journey. This year promises to be filled with exploration, creativity, and fun as we begin a journey of learning and growth together. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and excited about coming to school each day!
Here is a little background on myself both personally and professionally. I grew up not too far in Mahwah, NJ (go T-Birds). Growing up, I was inspired by my second grade teacher, Mr. T who had the utmost patience for a very spirited and inquisitive group of second grade learners. His class was the most memorable in my early elementary years. He had a special yellow canoe we could read inside of; we built birdhouses with our parents and we even had a poetry reading contest (I still remember the Shell Silverstein poem I recited!). Mr. T taught in such a hands-on way that I still remember lessons and concepts to this day. Later, I went on to attend Ramapo College where I studied English Literature and received a secondary education certification and later a K-5 elementary education certification. I realized that my love of learning, singing and dancing was a perfect fit inside an elementary classroom.
This will be my eighth year teaching kindergarten and I will be going into my ninth year at Berkeley Elementary School. I previously taught first grade and second grade but, kindergarten is by far the most special grade to teach. It’s so fun to witness the excitement in their eyes as they explore new concepts and develop their unique talents. The growth and progress we see in kindergarten is so rewarding.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband (trying new food recipes and traveling), our families and friends. During the summer, I read and enjoy being by the beach. I love visiting Greece where my family is from. I come from a tiny island called Karpathos where the waters are crystal clear and every meal is made with love. My favorite boys in the world are my nephews Frankie (8), Georgie (4), and Mikey (6 months); as well as my niece, Mia (2) who is our princess! My niece and nephews are often the stars of many of my writing stories! You'll hear stories about them often.
This year, like every year, I am committed to creating a warm, engaging, and supportive classroom where your child feels safe and enthusiastic about learning. Building a strong partnership with you is essential, and I am here to support both you and your child every step of the way!
Thank you for entrusting me with your child’s early education. Together, let’s make this year a memorable and joyous adventure!
With love and care,
Ms. Georgiadis

Welcome to kindergarten! My name is Mrs. Schott and I am very excited to be a part of the kindergarten team at Berkeley Avenue Elementary School. We are going to have an amazing school year with lots of learning, building a growth mindset, and working together as a team! I look forward to learning ALL about you! Until then, here is a little about me!
I grew up in Wayne, New Jersey where I was inspired by my fourth grade teacher to always believe in myself, be kind, and to achieve greatness! After I graduated from Wayne Hills High School, I attended Siena College, where I majored in Psychology. After graduating from Siena College, I went to William Paterson University, where I majored in English Literature. I then pursued a career in banking management. After a few years of working in the corporate world, I decided to go back to school to earn my teaching certificate and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from William Paterson University.
I have been teaching now for 15+ years and absolutely love teaching! I have taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. They have all been amazing experiences, however my heart belongs to kindergarten!
I now live in Bergen County with my husband, Jason, my son, Joshua, and my daughter, Abigail. Oh, I can't forget my dog, Eli (after Eli Manning)! When I am not teaching, I am spending quality time with my amazing family. I also enjoy running, gardening, going to the beach, and volunteering my time in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
My goal is to inspire all of you just like my fourth grade teacher did so many years ago...believe in yourself, show kindness, and reach for the stars!
I look forward to an exciting, engaging, and memorable school year with you and your children!
Your cheerleader,
Mrs. Schott
