Honors Art Class

To all 7th Grade Students

Interested in the 8th Grade Honors Art Class:

All information about Honors Art will be announced later in the year.



If you are interested in this class, come to this information session. The art teacher from the high school will answer your questions!


If you are interested in trying out for this 8th grade Honors Art class,

you will be required to show a portfolio of drawings, paintings, and other art and craft projects.

You do NOT need to be in art class to qualify for the 8th grade honors class...ANYONE can try out!

If you have questions or need some help, come see Mrs. Bloch after school, or attend a few lunch-time sessions:

Create drawings for your portfolio, or bring in your art collection so

Mrs. Bloch can help you prepare for the portfolio review!

Portfolio Review and Tryout after school:

TRYOUT WILL BE Held later winter/early spring

LOCATION: CAFETERIA

TIME: 2:50- 4:00 PM*

*You do not need to stay the entire time. When you are done with your drawing, you are free to go.

START COLLECTING/CREATING DRAWINGS FOR THE TRYOUT!!

Some ideas for drawing:

  • Apples and pears on a table
  • A pair of shoes
  • Your dog or cat sleeping
  • Look and observe the folds of your bed blankets before the bed is made
  • Your hand holding an object
  • Tree branches and Flowers
