Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Spierer and I am very excited to be working with your child in Academic Support this year. Many of you may know me as Miss Johnston but I got married last June so I have a new last name! I am starting my 7th year at Brookside and my 8th year teaching. I graduated from Penn State so I am a huge Penn State Football fan (WE ARE!). I recently graduated with my Master's in Reading with a Reading Specialist Certification from NJCU. I also hold a Master's in Special Education from Penn State. I love the beach, running, reading, and exploring new places.
The goal of our Academic Support program is to help close learning gaps and provide students with strategies to help them be successful in the classroom. I love to watch my students grow into confidence learners and individuals as a result of our program. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

I love spending time with my family!
