Weekly Updates

Student of the Month

Hello Westwood/Washington Township students, families, and community members!

I am very excited to begin my ninth year as the principal at Westwood Regional High School.  I am not only an employee of the District, but a proud community member as well.  On behalf of the staff, we welcome you to what we anticipate to be a very exciting and rewarding school year.

Before coming to the Westwood Regional School District in September 2005, I taught Social Studies for seven years in the Cliffside Park School District.  My teaching career in the Westwood Regional School District began at the High School where I taught Social Studies for two years.  After two years, I was fortunate enough to become the assistant principal at the High School for four years.  After looking to gain some more middle school experience, I became the assistant principal at Westwood Regional Middle School for two years as well as the principal for another two years.  I came back as principal of the  High School in the 2015-2016 school year.

I wish everyone a very successful school year!  Feel free to contact me at anytime!

Philosophy

Each student is unique in their own way and need a safe, caring, and challenging atmosphere to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.  It is our job as educators to educate the "whole child" and to help students reach their full potential and become productive members of society.  It is important for students to develop self-esteem, sensitivity, creativity, and respect for others as well as improve upon their critical thinking, communication, problem solving, and research skills while learning how to work collaboratively with others.

Through cooperative interaction of the administration, faculty, students, parents, and community, each student can achieve his/her academic goals, develop a love for learning, respect for self and others, and an enthusiasm for life that will help to ensure his/her success and happiness.
