CONTESTS + SHOWS


WWRSD has heART is about using our artistic talents to help others in need. 20 works of student 'heart' art will be selected from each school and put on display at the high school. A panel of judges will select 14 winning images to represent the district in the WWRSD has heART charity event.

Celebrate Youth Art Month (YAM) by participating in the YAM Design Contest! Seven winning entries will be chosen and used to celebrate Youth Art Month in New Jersey. One winning entry will be replicated for the state YAM flag and flown during the 2020 NAEA Conference in Minneapolis. Other winning entries will be transformed into our state YAM poster, YAM button, YAM billboard, YAM t-shirt, and two YAM invitations.

Doodle 4 Google is an annual contest open to students in grades K-12. Students are invited to use their imagination to create a Google Doodle based on what inspires them. Judges will choose the winning entries, and prizes will be awarded in accordance with the contest official rules.

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is an annual contest open to teens, grades 7–12, applying in 29 categories of art and writing. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.

Students receiving Gold Keys, Silver Keys, Honorable Mentions, or American Voices & Visions Nominations are celebrated within their communities through local exhibitions and ceremonies. Gold Key works are then judged nationally by a panel of creative–industry experts to receive National Medals, including Gold Medals, Silver Medals, American Voices & Visions Medals, Gold Medal and Silver with Distinction Portfolio Medals, and Special Achievement Awards. National Medalist are recognized in part at the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
